Sylvie Aprile is Professor of Modern History at l’université de Lille, and a member of the IRHIS laboratory. A specialist in the political and social history of nineteenth century France and Europe, as well as of forced and voluntary migrations, she has published numerous articles and books on the question of Europe, revolutionary movements, exiles, and feminine mobilities. Her publications include: “De l’exilé à l’exilée : une histoire sexuée de la proscription politique outre-Manche et outre-Atlantique sous le Second Empire,” Le Mouvement social 225 (2008); Le siècle des exilés, bannis et proscrits (de la Révolution française à la Commune) (Éditions du CNRS, 2010); and in 2015 she co-edited two works, Polonaises aux champs. Lettres de femmes immigrées dans les campagnes françaises (1930-1955) (Numilog), and Europe de papier, les projets européens au xixe siècle (PUS).
