Yannik Ripa is Professor of 19th century European political and social history at Université Paris 8. She leads a research seminar on the history of gender and the history of women. She published the first textbook on this subject in France. She is also a member of the Mixed Research Unit (UMR) SIRICE, associate researcher with the host team EA1571, and a member of the LabEx “Writing a new history of Europe”. She is also a consultant for the daily newspaper Libération where she reviews works on gender history. She is particularly interested in subjects supposedly on the fringes of women’s history (madness, violence, seduction) and the role of gender in the construction of political models and wars.
